Crystal Bridges Museum- Bentonville, AR

At the end of November, I had the opportunity to go to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. The well hidden super-complex seamlessly blends in with the natural surroundings. And, other than the presence of a bunch of corporately-funded art around you, its hard to believe the Wal-Mart world headquarters is only a stone's throw away, through the trees. Thanks to hefty multi-billion dollar donation (primarily by Alice Walton), the museum houses hundred of works from both highly reputable, and lesser-known artists and sculptors from America. I would encourage all to check it out!

Arguably Norman Rockwell's most famous work, Rosie the Riveter

This abstract piece is particularly interesting because its seemingly random extremities are actually held perfectly in balance, down to the milligram, by the large black base at the bottom of the sculpture (shaped like a guitar pick)

This is a large array of suspended wires holding spools of thread. When viewed through crystal ball in the middle-front of the exhibit, the image is inverted and sharpened where the viewer clearly sees a replication of DeVinci's The Last Supper

Columbia, MO trip- Fall 2011

At the end of October, I took trip to Columbia, Missouri to visit friends from the military school at which I graduated (Wentworth Military Academy). We stopped in Lexington, MO in route to visit my alumni campus. Later that weekend in Columbia, we attended Mizzou's homecoming game, where they engaged in an obvious shut-out against the Iowa State Cyclones (or as I call them, the "half twister/half cardinal"). On the way back to Fayetteville, I took the opportunity to drive through Joplin, MO and see the remaining destruction from the tornadoes that nearly wiped-out the whole town in the spring of 2011. All in all, great weekend, thanks ya'll...

Dispatch @ Red Rocks

Welcome to the travel blog. This first post will give you an example of what this "sub-blog" is all about.

I just recently returned from a fantastic trip out West. I attended Red Rocks to see Dispatch play their first their first set together since 07', while not having been formally together as a band since the early 2000s. We stayed in Ft. Collins but drove down to Morrison, CO, home of Red Rocks amphitheater, for the show. What a wild trip...
